Red Lentil Waffles

Waffles

  • 1 dl Red lentils
  • 2 dl Water
  • 6 dl Milk
  • 150 grams Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 2.5 dl All purpose flour
  • 2 dl Rye flour
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions

  • Boil the lentils in the water for 15 - 20 minutes. Do not add salt until after boiled.

  • Melt butter in microwave and let cool.

  • Combine all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  • Once the lentils are cooked, pour the milk into the lentils and let cool. This allows for the lentils to cool faster.

  • Add the butter and the lentil-milk mix to the dry ingredients.

  • Cook on a waffle iron until golden on both sides (takes about 3 minutes).
